In 2019, the Pomeroy Center and Helpers Community, Inc. formed a partnership to open two residential homes for up to 11 adults with intellectual disabilities, plus on-site staff. Helpers own the properties, and Pomeroy leases, staffs, and populates the homes, which are located across from Golden Gate Park. The lack of affordable care homes for adults with intellectual disabilities is a huge problem in San Francisco. These two organizations are working to make safe places for as many people with disabilities as possible.
