We offer a range of stimulating, interactive, diverse and enriching social recreation activities for children, teens and transition age youth with disabilities focusing on helping children and teens develop independence, friendships, social skills and lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

The Pomeroy Center offers a range of stimulating, interactive, diverse, and enriching social recreation activities for children, teens, and transition age youth with disabilities. Activities include social groups, art & crafts, dance, swimming, recreational sports, computer lab, community outings, life skills classes, sensory integrative activities, and developmental social groups.
Children get picked up from school by bus.
Our Children and Teens Staff have an average of 3+ years of experience working exclusively with children, teens, and adults with disabilities. All lead teachers have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Kinesiology, or Art and Design. Our team partners with Occupational Therapists, SLP clinics, and Behavioral Consultants to offer an individual and adaptive curriculum focused on developing fulfilling social relationships, fostering independence, and leading healthy, happy lives. Pomeroy offers our Summer Camp Program once the school year comes to an end. During summer sessions, we offer fun and enriching recreational activities for children and teens. Activities include drama, dance, arts & crafts, sports, indoor and outdoor therapeutic recreation activities, swimming, computer lab, community outings, and cooking classes.
For individuals not attending our After School Program, enrollment opens on March 27th and is first come, first served.

Application for Service
The Application for Service confirms the sessions your child is enrolled in. Applications for Service will be sent out in early June and must be received by mid-June to complete enrollment. Individuals who have not completed all enrollment paperwork by the deadline will forfeit their space and be placed on the waitlist.
Full scholarships are available for the afternoon program from CDSS, or GGRC respite hours can be used for all program hours. Almost all participants attend at no daily out-of-pocket cost. Families are responsible for fees GGRC, DCYF, or the California Department of Education Scholarship does not cover. If families choose to pay privately, Pomeroy Summer Camp (12p-6p) costs $75/day, and Morning Program (8:30a-12p) is $50/day.

Our Transition Age Youth Program focuses on building vocational and living skills so that our students develop independence, social skills, and agency. This program provides work readiness training, including soft skills classes, individualized independent living skill activities, enrichment classes, and socialization opportunities.
